We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a special Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Rowans Day Nursery! Taking place on Friday 22nd May from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, this event promises to be a highlight of our spring calendar, bringing together our children and their most cherished cuddly companions for an afternoon of outdoor magic.
A Celebration of Outdoor Play
At Rowans, we believe that outdoor learning is vital for early years development. Our garden will be transformed into a festive picnic spot where children from our Baby Unit, Nursery Unit, and Pre-School Unit can enjoy the fresh air.
Events like this are more than just fun; they encourage social interaction, imaginative role-play, and a sense of community within the nursery. Whether they are “sharing” a snack with their bear or participating in group storytime, the children are constantly developing their communication and language skills.
What the Children Should Bring Along
To make the day as special as possible, we invite all children to bring along:
- Their Favourite Teddy Bear: Whether it’s a classic bear or a different cuddly friend, all are welcome!
- A Sun Hat & Sun Cream: We are hoping for glorious May weather, so please ensure your child is prepared for some time in the sun.
- Comfortable Clothing: We’ll be sitting on picnic blankets and playing on the grass, so easy-to-move-in clothes are best.
Our Children and Staff Only Policy
To ensure the children have the space to explore and enjoy the activities in a familiar environment, this particular picnic is a nursery-only event. However, we will be taking plenty of photos to share with parents through our usual channels so you don’t miss out on the cuteness!
