Baby Unit Childcare: Places Available for September 2026 Intake

Support your children in our baby room

Boy Paintbrush

This exceptional baby space is situated on the first floor and has a wonderful home-from-home feel.

We offer a variety of rooms for the baby unit which consist of a physical play wind-down area, separate feeding and changing facilities then three additional classroom spaces.

The babies are able to access the wonderful outdoors by using the purposeful fenced garden area and also going out into the community on our baby bus.

When you visit the baby room you will notice we assign your child a key person who will accommodate and follow your babies routine and intertwine nurseries routine as they become ready for the next nursery group.

We will support with all aspects of your babies development which includes weaning,
rolling, crawling to walking. The unit is warm, friendly and inviting with lots of visual stimulus for pre-crawlers and all
our play resources are purposeful to develop a curiosity of play.

We value treasure baskets, using natural products and real-life objects that babies can begin to acknowledge and associate with.

Nursery Places in Sutton Coldfield for September 2026

We have a small number of baby unit places available for our September 2026 intake. Nursery places in Sutton Coldfield fill quickly after our Summer Graduation, and available spaces in Sutton Coldfield for under 2s are always the first to go, so we encourage families to visit early. As an independent, family-run nursery caring for local children since 1996, we keep our baby room numbers deliberately low so every little one gets the attention they deserve.

EYFS Learning Through Structured Play

Our baby unit follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with structured play at the heart of every session. Treasure baskets, sensory trays, music and movement, and cosy story times are all planned around each baby’s stage of development. Your child’s key person observes their progress and shares regular updates, so you always know how they are growing in confidence, communication and curiosity.

Settling In: Shy Children, Dietary Needs and Allergies

Every baby settles differently, and that is perfectly fine with us. Our gentle settling-in sessions are led by your child’s pace, and our experienced team is especially good with shy or clingy little ones who need extra cuddles and reassurance in their first weeks. We also cater confidently for dietary needs and allergies. Our kitchen prepares fresh meals daily, and every requirement, from weaning stages to allergen-free diets, is recorded in an individual care plan and followed by the whole team.

A Day in Our Baby Unit

Here is a picture of a typical day, though we always follow each baby’s own routine for sleeps and feeds:

  • 07:30 Arrival, cuddles and a calm start with breakfast
  • 09:00 Structured play: sensory exploration and treasure baskets
  • 10:30 Outdoor time in our secure baby garden
  • 11:30 Freshly cooked lunch, then naps in our quiet sleep room
  • 14:00 Songs, stories and messy play
  • 16:00 Tea time followed by wind-down play until home time at 18:00
