Pre-School Unit

This tremendous pre-school unit has an exceptional free-flowing space encouraging the children to be independent learners.

We follow on the basis of the nursery section but deepen the play and learning opportunities further.

The classroom groups are in colours Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. The garden space is offered to the children and is used in all weathers bringing indoor learning outdoors!

The section consists of younger and older ability groups and two mixed ability groups and supports the children getting ready for pre-school to that transition into school.

We do have a uniform for the children, their own coat pegs and trays for their personal items.

Children self-serve their snacks, meals and drinks.

We pride ourselves in offering a range of extracurricular activities such as Kidslingo, Sharing Book scheme, Toy and Book library, Swimming and topic of interest trips.

The environments are busy with children developing confidence in choosing areas of interest to play in and selecting resources to equip them.

The children will use some real-life objects in their play, alongside many plastic and natural resources.

We strive to develop confident, resilient, independent learners and encourage the children to form strong friendship groups at Rowans.

We ensure our children engage in fun, new activities and our staff team develop your children ready for school through developing letters and sounds, toilet training, transitional reports for school and readiness for school life.
